GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT
Hailing from Glen of the Downs, Ireland, GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT was formed in 2002 by Twin Brothers Niels and Torsten. They have released 4 albums and one EP. and have performed all over the world including dozens of sold out shows in Europe, USA, UK, and Russia. In mid 2004 Lloyd Hanney, who was trained by the late jazz drumming legend Johnny Wadham, joined the band. Their second album "All Is Violent, All Is Bright" was a much closer representation of their dynamic live sound. The album itself has received worldwide exposure with countless radio plays and great reviews.
In April 2007 they released their third album "Far From Refuge". This 9 track album was recorded between September 2006 - March 2007 seen a more live band approach and continued to build on their success as one of the world's biggest instrumental bands. An 11 track version was also released in Japan. In late 2008 they released their 4th self titled album which was supported by a hectic touring schedule which saw their last two European tours completely sell out and cement them currently as one of the big 3 post-rock instrumental bands in the world.
